When I booked Stockholm, I didn’t even think how I was going to get from one side of London to the other for an 8am flight! I first thought of changing it for a bit later, but then decided it was a perfect opportunity to stay over the night before. And when googling “airport hotels stanstead” I came across the beautiful Radisson Blu .I hadn’t stayed at a hotel in years and thought it was a good opportunity to extend my mini break! Plus, Daniels sister in laws offered to take care of Saoirse, so I took advantage of the situation and booked!
First impressions of the hotel was “…did this this open today?”… The cleanliness! I stayed in Business Class room 4056 which was such a treat! It took me three hours to get from Surrey, so I arrived at 8.30pm and was I HUNGRY! The lady at reception got me a table at New York Grill Bar and I stuffed myself silly. See below! I wanted to take my waiter Julio away with me. Impeccable, genuinely caring service. Rare, right?
My second port of call was the infamous Wine Tower which actually has an acrobat go pick out your wine for you when you order it! Insane! I love massive lounge spaces and this reception ceiling was like…seriously high up. IMPRESSIVE. Even if you are not staying at the hotel for the night, I would definitely recommend going to check it out.
I was longing for a glass of wine, but sat with a sparkling water instead and soaked up the atmosphere in the midst of such divine architecture. It was so chilled out…so much so that I almost sleep walked back up to my room. To me, thats what a hotel is all about. Indulgence and RELAXATION.
I woke the next morning, sprawled out on a huge comfy bed and made my way downstairs for breakfast, which presentation was unforgettable. What I liked was that they started the brekkie early. Very accommodating! All of those small things make such a difference. With all of this being pregnant, it all felt pretty darn fabulous. Que fur over the shoulders moment!
