As you know from my Instagram, fashion / style in general pretty much dominates what I do for a living. And I like to surround myself with everything that comes with it. Fashion photography, styling, social media, fashion week, events. I have always been drawn to the industry and since I was a runner backstage during my New York days, I wanted to work every fashion week since. Some people in the industry are “done with it” and roll their eyes at what fashion week has become, but I think the new wave of how designers showcase their collections, especially in this exciting age of social media, has made the celebration of fashion during these few days more exciting than ever!
As it’s under a week until this seasons London Fashion Week, I wanted to do a round up of last seasons and tell you about who I’ll be working with this time! I honestly can’t believe how each season brings me (what I think) are jaw dropping opportunities and I am honoured to work with some of the worlds biggest brands again to create content and deliver to you, a taste of what it’s like to see such amazing things happen!
Doing the IG Stories for Julien Macdonald has definitely been my biggest opportunity so far and how crazy is it that I ended up doing that from just setting up an Instagram 4 years ago? Still baffles me. But then I think about the amount of (free) work I have done for so long and how it’s finally all paying off. Lately I keep saying “…slow and steady….slow and steady…” and it’s particularly true on this occasion. The buzz backstage is absolutely electric. I’ll be doing the same next Saturday during the show and definitely going to the after party again. i met some really interesting people at the last one (I never thought I’d be able to have a good time at something like that without having a few drinks, but I TOTALLY DID). I was up the next morning at 7am to get ready for the Preen show. That’s the thing about when I go…it’s non-stop. For some it’s an opportunity to party, but for me, it’s a massive work opportunity and I am doing around 5 jobs for different companies at the same time!!

At Preen wearing Preen…with no massive bump this time! God…I remember the season before I was waddling around at 37 weeks pregnant! I actually loved it. I can’t wait to tell Harper these stories when she’ older. This location was amazing…
So this season I’ll be staying at The Kensington Hotel and am incredibly excited about who I begin working with the minute I get to London! I will be going backstage with Verve getting access to all areas… (that sounds a bit cringe when I say it out loud…but, seriously…it’s a pretty big deal to me because it’s back there that a lot of the beauty and hair secrets are unveiled by some of the worlds most famous hair stylists and make up artists!) Inspiration is everywhere. I couldn’t be more in my element being around the worlds best photographers, videographers, designers, seamstresses, editors and bloggers. I am so nosey and always have my camera on hand to document anything I find interesting.
Verve is the Official Garment Care Supplier of London Fashion Week and London Fashion Week Festival from 17-27 February. I’m honoured to be working with them on a limited edition launch of their products and will be backstage with the team snapping away and posting on my IG all next Friday. So yes- this week is going to be full on with organising, attempting to put a schedule together (and stick to it before I get sidetracked bumping into friends!…I know what I’m like…) Also need to find a few outfits tomorrow. Ah!
