I said I would do a post to put a bit of a recap up of the two weeks I spent at home recently. I travelled on my own with the girls again which was challenging (lots of screaming/tantruming/chocolate bribery to put on the aeoplane seatbelts…you know yourself) but extremely rewarding because I love setting off on little adventures as just us 3!
I was at home to have my first events at Electric which went so well! I had also been offered some work while I was there, so in addition to visiting Nana and Granda, it was hitting two birds with one stone! Cork is a beautiful city and has a strong cultural identity. It’s English Market is a must visit and every time I go there, I see it with fresh eyes. This roof is epic! There are lots of really cool ( I’m a mom now- i’m saying REALLY COOL) cafes popping up too, like the one below, Alchemy Cafe. Saoirse approves the black pudding sausage rolls!
I got to meet a tonne of my followers, which was amazing, but strange in a way as I don’t ever really know exactly who I’m talking to when I’m vlogging (harping on!) on IG Stories and Snapchat and all of a sudden, there were humans there in front of me who have been following me for a few years! I told my story of how all of this happened, spoke about how I work/social media and gave some tips. It was a success (it ran the Saturday and the Sunday!) and I can’t wait to do another! I also spoke (in a lecture hall -eek) at the Digital Marketing Summit at University College Cork, which was a massive honour.
One of the wondering small Irish companies I did some work with while I was there was these beautiful ladies- Spotlight Whitening . They got in touch a few weeks previous about working together and after spending time looking into them, I decided to collaborate and start using their whitening strips. I was going to be doing a lot of public appearance work and one thing was to get my extensions done, but I definitely wanted to whiten up my teeth.
Now you KNOW how much coffee I drink ( Taylors and Harris and Hoole like every second day) and whilst the two big teeth at the front (proper dental speak) are white, the teeth at the sides are totally yellow. Ugh I hate it. Honestly, getting my teeth whitened isn’t a financial priority at the moment, so these strips are a really good alternative. They’re just so much easier to use than the trays ( I used them once years ago in NY and they were super uncomfortable) because they’re just stuck onto your teeth for an hour a day. I really did notice a change coming to the end of my cycle. They’re super affordable to at €39.95 and are now even available in Boots in Ireland. How mad is that! The girls are two Irish dentists who are based in Galway and are sisters – Dr Lisa and Vanessa Creaven. Good on ye girls! Would love to meet them someday…
So I came home and Daniel was after moving house with the help of his family into our new house!! It’s so gorgeous …full of boxes at the moment, but I’ll definitely be doing a little tour on my IG Stories and Snapchat the next few days.. Now..i’m off to buy a sun lounger as it was 16 degrees today in Surrey and I’m going to start living out my new back garden!!
