Oh Laura Ashley. If you did it to me, you have the ability to convert anybody to floral! My looks are usually quite structural and minimal, but lately, I have been experimenting with different style. I think it’s the summer too. Lately, I have been drawn to flowy numbers, such as this beautiful dress. I immediately thought “Ooo , that’s so Kate Moss/Sienna Miller.”
Firstly, can I just say how comfortable it was wearing this dress around London? It’s high waistband let’s good room for the more curvy girl, if you get my drift.(My belly is still not back to normal after having Harper!). This is actually a huge factor for me purchasing clothes at the moment. Heaven knows, you want comfort over anything, postpartum.
Next charming factor about this dress is how diverse it is. Season to season, it wins. (Another factor I take into consideration before buying anything). I want to get the most of what I buy and if it can be work in Summer or Winter, then I’m sold. This dress is a fine example of that. Black tights on the chillier days perhaps?
This leads me to my next point. I love how I can dress this up or down. You know those pieces of clothing you buy for a wedding, wear once, keep in the wardrobe and it’s just THERE, waiting, longing to be worn again? Well I would totally wear this to a wedding with heals, then throw on again and again with a leather jacket and black or brown boots. Sorted! I find us woman (especially us Mums) have a tendancy to just throw on anything and think something is “too good” to wear down the shops. Not true! Time to get glam girl! I also feel strongly about getting the most out of the money you work so damn hard for, especially when it comes to fashion.
