Travelling with the #Urbo2

A few days before Christmas, we set off on a beautiful morning and got the train up to London for a night (or a staycation as I’m told!) and we took the Mamas and Papas Urbo2 pushchair with us.

As Saoirse is now older, she is in and out of the pram and I find myself taking less of everything. Less food, no baby toys, no dummies, bottles. She is becoming a proper little girl. The Urbo 2 couldn’t be more perfect for both of our requirements! I love it because it is such a sturdy pram (with lots of storage space down south) but it’s also one of the most stylish prams on the market. I love when nice design and aesthetic in incorporated into everyday items. Being an Instagram freak, I am always on the lookout for a good wall to get a photo in front of! This one at Tottenham Court Road tube station did the job nicely!

We arrived at Waterloo and thankfully getting off the train was easy. I feel like the frame of Urbo 2 is compact, but built to be used, thoroughly. Wether you are trudging through the muddy path by a Surrey canal (like me) or whizzing around London, you see that it’s versatile. It’s material and frame can be cleaned easily too which is a god sent for dealing with a half banana eating daughter!

We took the Northern Line straight up to Leicester Square. We put Saoirse in the pushchair for this little journey as it was easier and safer than having her run around the tube platforms. She is a whippet! If anybody is a bit hesitant with taking a pram on a tube, trust me, if I can do it, anyone can. I usually use the disabled access stations (Green Park is a handy central one, which takes you right up to street level). I am well used to it now and have found turning the pram around and backing out of the door, off the train, is a lot easier and feels safer.

We arrived at the theatre in perfect time to settle into the performance! We relaxed the pushchair and they were able to put it in a safe place for us, like the hundred or so other parents who were there! As you can imagine, it was pram carnage afterwards with everybody trying to get theirs! It was well organised though and we got ours pretty quickly!

We arrived at the Radisson Blu Edwardian and as Saoirse was asleep, so we chilled in the room for around an hour and kept her in thepram. Again, a great advantage of the Urbo 2, is that it is super flat when you relax the seat.

We went for dinner at Zebrano London which was such a treat, as I wanted to go here for ages! The restaurant design is so beautiful and the food was as good as I exptected.

We got an Uber back to the hotel and after Saoirse ran around the room hundreds of times (!!) ,I had a nice, long, relaxing bath. I took this Asos Maxi Slip with me for night, which wraps perfectly around the bump for bed.

By coincidence, the hotel was on the same street as my fave coffee in town – Monmouth Coffee .It’s so good!

So yes- a good pram can be one of your biggest spends when you have a baby. You want something solid, safe and suitable. Without overthinking it, it’s quite a personal decision for a parent to find what’s right for them. What will suit my lifestyle? Will I be out and about a lot? Which colour is more me? Hey- you’re the one who’s going to be pushing it around.  Couldn’t recommend it more. I got the Carrycot addition too for the new baby!
