Philips

You might have seen on my IG stories and Snapchat recently, the embarrassing condition of my travel toothbrush which I got as a set of three when we went to Mexico last December.

I actually found it hilarious that Philips got in touch about collaborating for Mothers Day, because this is literally what I say to myself every time I put the frikin thing into my mouth…”I need to get a new toothbrush.I need to get a proper toothbrush”. When I say proper, well, I mean an electric toothbrush. I’ve never owned one and when Philips were sending the below to try, I was literally so excited. I know. It’s a toothbrush. No -seriously though- its not just a toothbrush. It’s the Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean Deep Clean… in Rose Gold. It’s powerful and its pretty. SO pretty. Yes. That is important. It’s like when I wore a cashmere sweater for the first time and didn’t ever EVER want to wear any other sweater but cashmere again. Well this is like a massive sense of achievement upgrading to this. Ha! I sound pathetic. Again- were talking about a toothbrush here. But seriously!

Harper getting almighty entertainment here over the sound it made last weekend when Sarah took some pics in the bathroom of my new house – which will most definitely be used for anything beauty related in the future. The light!

Ok so it deep cleans, looks beautiful, is light, has a rose gold charger and this pink travel case to go with. THE PERFECT GIFT for a woman.

I’d much prefer this over a lot of other things. I always think a great gift is one which the person will actually use all the time? Am I right?! It’s now perched up in my new ensuite and I don’t even have to take the travel ones with me next time I go away. I can just pop this into its little case and put into my suitcase.

I was also lucky enough to get the opportunity to try the Philips Lumea Prestige, which I had never heard of but I was so intrigued by. After reading the manual and googling it a bit, (I knew I needed info on this because I looked at it and said “what does this thing do???”) I searched for reviews and watched YouTube videos from beauty bloggers on what they thought about the whole process and product in general.

I’ve dyed my hair blonde for years, but my natural colour is actually pretty dark. I’ve been getting my lip waxed since my Mum would allow me (I was 13 when she took me to the salon) and had to do so because the hair on my lip was getting me down and it was just super embarrassing. It still grows thick hair (at a rapid pace) on my lip and at the side of my cheeks. So yes – I was in need of a product like this where I can prevent the growth of this as much as possible …(because trying to get the time to nip out and get a lip wax- well trust me- it’s kind of impossible at the moment with the girls and work etc!) Hair removal creams sting so much when I put them on and the wax strips I find just don’t get the root out. The hair above is gone, but I’m left with a dark shadow, which looks gross with make up on top of that it’s just, not ideal.

I’ve used it twice since I got it on my lip, cheeks, underarms and bikini. It does pinch a bit when the light flashes on the area you apply it to, but it’s fine. With what the device actually does, it’s totally worth it. I’ll need to follow this up in a few weeks (will show you on my IG Stories and Snapchat) because I want to wait to see how I go with it after using it for an extended period. After proven research by Philips, they say it offers 92% hair reduction in 3 bi-weekly treatments. So yes- I’ll let you know how I get on.

It’s a teeny bit pricey, but trust me, it works out a lot more affordable in the long run,(if you make it out how much you will spend on lip and bikini waxing etc over the course of a year).

What I (obviously) also like about it is that it’s cordless and sleek in its design, is light to hold and has a nice feeling and aesthetic. Yes, like their toothbrush, it’s super pretty too.

Lastly, but what I have been using most out of the three the last week is the Philips AVENT uGrow Smart Baby Monitor which has been really handy in the new house, because not only is there is an extra floor, it is a new build and the rooms are definitely more soundproof. Which meant this baby monitor came in very handy. You can set it up to watch your baby through the app. How incredible is that? It’s got some lullabies too which are actually really soothing. I have it perched up across from the cot. I think its fascinating how much we can do with our phones these days…

Philips also give toddler sleep tips and advice on their site which I think is fantastic. Harper is fine now in her own cot, but it took a year for her to sleep through the night.

It was a pleasure to collaborate with Philips, who kindly sponsored this blog post.
