Ok firstly, do you ever look at electrical beauty products and go…”What IS THAT?? and HOW does THAT work???” Well that’s me. And that’s why I’m going to explain the following in detail!!
Being exposed to new products, whether it be fashion, interior or beauty, is one of the most exciting parts of my job.
You guys know from my stories that I only wear make up about once a week. You also know how little time I have when it comes to doing my facial cleansing, make up etc. It’s the small things like this that I really took for granted before I was a Mum and honestly, even doing basic beauty “maintenance” (i.e Having shaved legs) gives me more confidence because I feel better about myself. I know I don’t need to tell you how nice it feels to have your beauty bits like that done!!
I used to have really bad skin on my cheeks and chin which gave me small but deep acne scar. Weirdly, (and thankfully) since I had kids, I don’t get acne anymore, but what I do have are tonnes of blackheads and oily clogged pores, which I love getting into when having a good cleanse. Ok, we’re not gonna lose sleep over blackheads, but I do LOVE my face to be properly cleansed and moisturised (who doesn’t?!) so I do it religiously in the morning and at night. Yes this is rushed, but again, I feel SO much better when I do it and kind of feel more ready for the day. I usually fit it in when the girls are having their porridge and I nip into the bathroom with Lennon in his rocker looking up at me! Haha! Always stuck to me!
I’m already obsessed with our Philips electric toothbrushes so obviously I was keen to try out their new skincare products. I chose three which I knew I would use all the time and that I’d have for years to come. NB.
Here’s why I love them:
The Philips VisaPure Advanced is essentially a device for performing an at-home facial, which I love, because when would I ever find the time to go to a salon to get a facial now??!! It has three different attachments for cleansing, massage and another for freshening up your eyes. It really does make your skin feel like you have just had a facial. My skin definitely feels softer and clearer after I use it. The Anti-Pollution Brush Head (Hi there- I live just outside one of the biggest cities in the world) gets in really deep and can be used on the Philips VisaPure Advanced and the Philips VisaPure Mini, which as you can see, is perfectly compact and ideal for travel. It comes with a little travel bag too. I applied my cleanser to it here when taking off a bit of make up.
Now when it comes to the Philips Satinelle Prestige, it’s kind of like one big electric tweezer. Which is literally perfect for me because having to shave every time I shower…well…with the small amount of time I actually have to even shower, it is a game changer. It’s a 4 in 1 body care device – so you can epilate, shave, exfoliate and massage. It’s waterproof which is so good, because you can use it in the bath/shower too.
I’ve been using it on my arms and bikini line mostly. At first I was doing it much quicker than I should have been, but I definitely think it works better to do it slowly because it really does need that time to remove the hairs properly. What I did too, which I think makes a massive difference is to pull your skin tight, around where you’re epilating so it can remove hairs more effectively. I love to really pamper myself with the body exfoliator attachment so I literally cannot wait to have a bath again. Oh yes, I used the exfoliator on my bikini line the day before I used the epilator on it, making the skin super smooth so it was easier for the hair to be tweezed out.
So all in all, I’d say these feel good, small little gadgets are definitely a good investment for the convenience, above all! For me, this is especially the case with the epilator. Just one less thing to think about you know?!
